Social media in government has become popular over the past few years. Once upon a time, social media was recognized as something meant for personal use. After it became popular with people and their personal lives, it became popular with businesses, large and small. Eventually, it worked its way into government. Now, the president and the first lady have a Twitter and Facebook account! Years ago, this was unimaginable. Social media platforms were thought to be designed for casual conversation between friends and acquaintances. Not the case anymore.

The first great rise of social media showed itself through MySpace. Remember MySpace? You listed your top friends and your friends that weren’t listed would cease to be your friends? Luckily, for businesses and government, you don’t have to pick your favorite clients or voters and risk offending the rest. Social media has advanced. It can be used as a personal venting tool or a marketing tool. For the sake of this article, we’ll focus on the latter.

Social Media in Government Wins Elections

This is not an overstatement. The one most common thing between all people on earth, besides humanness, is the ownership of a social media account. Almost everyone has one, whether it’s through Facebook or Twitter.

So, how does social media in government help candidates win elections? Their message is spread in the easiest way possible. Whether this message is typed into Twitter or Facebook or both, it goes public, for the world to see, with the click of a button labeled “Post,” “Tweet,” or “Publish.”

Those who are following a candidate on Facebook or Twitter are able see the message of a particular campaign instantly. Social media platforms keep people informed. What does this mean for the candidate? The fans who are following them on Twitter or Facebook talk to their friends, family and acquaintances about the message that is being spread by the campaign.

We’re entering an age where the more “followers” or “likes” you have, the more popular you are. And everyone knows what popularity means for a candidate in a political race…a win. And isn’t every candidate trying to win? Of course. The hard truth is this: if your campaign team isn’t connected to social media platforms, a win is impossible. Impossible! Social media has seeped into the political stream and has become an integral part of it. Government is the last place social media platforms needed to conquer and they have done so successfully.

Social media for government purposes is widely accepted nowadays. It’s not just for citizens and political representatives in the confines of their home. Logging onto Facebook or Twitter and writing a bit of text about a specific political mission is what successful representatives do. Why do they do this? To keep the people they represent updated on the status of their efforts in the easiest way possible.

It’s indisputable that social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook are the most efficient ways to keep people informed. The majority of people who are curious about newsworthy matters have a social media account. It’s especially important for political representatives and candidates to reach the hearts and minds of these people. They’re the ones who care; they’re the ones who vote; they’re the ones who get your elected into office.

Not only is social media for government and political purposes accepted – it’s encouraged. With a social media account that represents your mission as a politician, the amount of people you can appeal to and reach is infinite. The majority of people invested in politics and of voting age have at least one social media account. Social media accounts take on many names – the two biggest being Twitter and Facebook.

Social Media for Government Purposes is Revolutionary

Think about it. In the past, political messages were confined to traditional media platforms like television and radio. In the past years, they’ve found a new breeding ground on the internet where they can reach many more people than television and radio can. Not everyone watches news channels; not everyone listens to the radio; but everyone surfs the web! And web surfing ultimately leads to the creation of a social media account.

If you’re still wondering why social media for government is revolutionary, here’s a simple answer: it gets people involved in politics who were previously uninvolved. Those who were once apathetic towards politics discover a new appreciation for the political arena once they become part of a social media platform. The main reason for this is because social media makes things more interesting. Ask anyone. If you see something advertised on Facebook or Twitter, you are more likely to take interest in it. This could be for many reasons, but, whatever the reasons are, only one thing matters: ideas communicated through social media platforms are more widely heard and accepted.

Government social media is what separates recognized political candidates from unrecognized political candidates. If you are a candidate running for office and you have a social media account like Twitter or Facebook, your popularity increases dramatically. Social media platforms offer a simple and effective way for you and your campaign to create a message and make it instantly accessible to the public eye. Also, if you have a Twitter or Facebook as a candidate, you’re instantly appreciated among those who have these social media accounts. If you know anything about social media, you know about the incredible amount of people who rely on it.

If you care about your success as a politician, you’ll inquire about government social media. The amount of people – or voters! – who are left out of the loop because of your inactivity on social media platforms is campaign-ruining. Some candidates or political campaigns don’t know the most effective way to use government social media to their advantage, which is why there are marketing teams like governmentsocialmedia.us.

We know how to use social media as a marketing tool. We know how to make your political message appeal to voters and we know the ins and outs of the popular social media platforms. The amount of people aware and interested in your campaign can improve significantly if social media platforms are correctly used. We know how to use them.

Government Social Media Transforms Campaigns

It transforms campaigns into successful campaigns. It does this with its ability to appeal to everyone on the social network. People can stay updated with your campaign via the social network on a series of devices including computers, tablets and phones. Nearly every electronic device now offers the ability to connect to the social network. If you aren’t using the social network to market your campaign, you’re not going to come out victorious. The social network is the most popular source for attracting attention to a specific mission. Why not attract everyone to the mission of your campaign?

Social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook offer an easy way to connect with the public. It’s one of the most effective methods of marketing your campaign. Every dedicated campaign is using it to popularize their mission; however, not every campaign is using the social network to its full potential. Fortunately for you, we know how to use the social network to its full potential and bring you closer to a winning candidacy.

Social media and the government have found a level playing field over the past few years. It’s not uncommon for elected politicians to have Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts. These accounts allow them to connect easily with the people they represent. Some politicians post updates themselves or they appoint someone else to post for them. Whatever the case, citizens are always kept aware of newsworthy updates posted by the politician or their representatives. Social media for political purposes assures citizens that they’ll be updated about the latest when they “follow” a politician via a social media account.

The modern politician with a social media account was most likely elected with the help of a social media account. It’s becoming commonplace for politicians – candidates and elected officials alike – to have a Facebook or Twitter. The reason is obvious: to maintain popularity and keep up awareness. Social media is the single most effective way to update people about your political status or mission. People of all ages use the social media platform and many of them are always connected to it with computers, smart phones and tablets.

What Does Social Media Mean for Political Candidates?

It means a world of difference in the way a candidate appeals to people. Not only will a candidate be able to communicate with more people through social media, but they’ll be able to communicate more effectively. People in today’s society live and die by the popular social media platforms, especially people who follow politics and the political race. These are the people who vote and get you elected!

You need to be able to communicate with these political campaign followers as well as the other people hosting social media accounts. The best way to do this, especially when you’re busy developing a base for your campaign, is to hire a marketing company skilled in the social media arena. Experts, like the ones at governmentsocialmedia.us, will make your popularity soar while you focus on the content of your campaign and its mission. Leave the marketing aspect of you campaign to us; you just focus on developing your unique ideas and plan of attack.

We know how to use different social media platforms to your ultimate advantage. We use it surely and effectively. Without having your campaign linked to effectively-run social media accounts, you aren’t obtaining the amount of followers you’re capable of. Let us prove to you what social media can do for the success of your campaign today.

Government and social media, when combined, create an unconquerable force for an emerging politician and their campaign. Social media does wonders for spreading awareness about a particular political candidate. The social media platform, since its genesis, has become an integral part of marketing for businesses and people – artists, entrepreneurs and politicians.

However, not everyone knows how to use various social media platforms the correct way. There’s a right way and a wrong way to implement social media marketing. The professional marketing team at governmentsocialmedia.us has perfected the art of using social media to win elections for political candidates.

Social media is just one way we get the word out there about your campaign. We use a wide variety of other internet marketing tactics including online advertising, search engine marketing, market research and email marketing. We also use traditional marketing practices to appeal to the part of the voting population that doesn’t rely on the internet.

We take advantage of all forms of media to spread awareness about your campaign and its mission. Our ability to use different forms of press – newspapers, radio stations and TV – allows us to make your message appealing to everyone. We recognize that a percentage of the population doesn’t have social media accounts and we are sympathetic to this fact. Even some people who are politically involved aren’t familiar with the digital world. We know this and try to appeal to them, too.

The Government and Social Media Duo Will Make You Victorious

A candidate with strong social media accounts typically has a strong online following. This is important to remember. But what is a strong social media account? A strong social media account for a politician is one that is constantly updated and widely appealing. There are also marketing intricacies involved with social media platforms that we – the marketing experts at governmentsocialmedia.us – know all about. Social media platforms are more complicated than they appear to be if you want them to attract thousands and millions of voters.

Hiring a team of marketing experts that knows how to handle social media accounts for political candidates will increase your amount of followers and fans exponentially. Don’t think that posting an occasional “tweet” or “status” will achieve a wider fan base. We know how to use social media platforms to their full potential and expand the base of your supporters with them.

A) Favorable information about their candidate
B) Negative attacks against the opposition
C) Both
I am not proposing any conspiracy. A conspiracy would indicate that soemthing immoral or illegal was occurring. Which even if true would not be the case. I should note that I do believe that the majority on YA! are exactly who they present themselves to be. It was just intended as a question of curiousity.

yes, it would howver be concealed in a format so as not to look to ‘clean’ written.

Ask what you can do for your country" I refer to the amount of money that Mr. Gingrich received from Freddie Mac for the consulting fee. I think of that money as the citizens money, not some accountant who writes the check for almost any amount billed.

well you ought to refer to lots of democratic politicians too. Republicans haven’t cornered the market on that one bubba

i have my exam in less than a week and i am stuggling sooooo much! its soo hard! please help me any advice would be much appriciated! thank you! here and the questions:

Q1) Show us what you know about the Popular Press
Examine two current newspapers from the Popular Press. What are the key features of their on-line and print based formats? Explain how each appeals to its target audience.
Your analysis needs to be based on two newspapers that are each targeted at a different readership.

Q2) As you know, newspaper circulation is in decline. Referring only to changes in the past ten years, explain how the popular press has tried to boost circulation.
How do you think the Popular Press will evolve in the future?
In you answer you need to respond to both parts of the question and include examples where appropriate.

Q3) The aim of the FYJ is to connect young people with the important social and political issues of the day.
Choose a current newspaper from the Popular Press and give us your ideas for its weekend youth section. We would like you to produce ideas for both print based and on-line format.
Tell us which newspaper you chose and explain how your ideas will appeal to a 15-24 year old market. Show how your print and on-line versions might link with each other.
Remember your proposals need to be appropriate to the newspaper for which you are writing, and your ideas need to appeal to both genders, with a focus on real news. You may wish to include sketches.

Q4) Now it is your opportunity to use your knowledge and understanding of the newspaper websites and to show us what your ideas look like.

Produce a design for the on-line youth news page.

Use the A3 design sheet provided. For headlines and images, you may wish to use real news stories; however, do not produce whole articles. You may wish to provide annotation to explain the function of certain features of your on-line news page

thank you for reading
for question 3:

FYJ
The Federation of Young Journalists

26 April 2010

Dear Student,

As you may know, the FYJ is an organisation set up to connect young people to the important social and political issues of the day.

The newspaper industry faces some serious problems:
- Newspaper circulation is declining
- The average age of a newspaper reader is over 55
- Newspapers have failed to engage with the 15 – 24 year old demographic.

We believe that newspapers have lost touch with young people. The needs of the youth audience are largely ignored by the Popular Press, and when young people are featured, they are often represented in a negative way.

The FYJ wants to recruit a dynamic media team to connect young people to the news. We are looking for enthusiastic young journalists with exciting ideas, who understand the needs of a youth audience, and can see how the Popular Press can use digital technology.

Your proposals need to include ideas that appeal to both ge

Took my exam a few weeks ago

For question one choose two newspapers. The Daily Mail and the sun are a good choice for this
and write about the
Layout and design boxes used? organized, headline?
Images and captions – amount of photos posed or snatched
Type of new stories covered – celebrity – good/bad news, surprise stories
way the stories are covered – This is the language used – Colloquial/formal, puns used
Remember you are talking about the newspaper in general and not a specific article

You need to write about the print version and the online version

the question says examine not compare. You do NOT need to compare

For question 2
this is slightly more difficult.
Look for online versions, updates to your mobile, reducing prices, freebies, adverts on tv

for the second part, you need more then one idea and remember this is your original idea, where the A* becomes possible as long as you describe well and include images. Your idea will still need to be able to subscribe to, otherwise no money is made.

for question 3. Remember its your age, what would you want
pictures, colours, comedy, big headlines, with slogans, more like a magazine so include a horoscope and other things suitable.

Real news – Not celeb

Remember to include why you would include everything. write about how the FYJ wants this and what it will do

try and use the same layout as the newspaper you chose.
drawing your idea is not that important

for task 5 you simply draw the idea for the online version that you have just described in task 4
and annotate it, saying why you have included this again.

I know the time seems like a long time to you now, but trust me its really not, majority of my class did not manage to finish the exam

Just learn your prep work very well and write fast

Good Luck, if you need any more help, Just ask
